EN 13501-1 is not a harmonized standard for EU CE certification, but rather a mandatory fire testing standard within the CE certification harmonized standards. For applying to CE certification System 1 or System 3, the required fire testing standard is based on EN 13501-1, and a certificate is issued according to the fire test results.

EN 13501-1 fire standard is a mandatory fire test for exporting to the European market. EN 13501-1 also has requirements for the scope of products applicable to this standard, which can be referred to as follows:

This standard applies to three types of construction products (specific content will be introduced separately in the standard):

Construction products, except floorings and linear pipe thermal insulation products;

Floorings;

Linear pipe thermal insulation products.

Note: Different products have different test methods and evaluation criteria, and the aforementioned A1/A2/B/C/D/E/F belong to the testing scope of construction products.

Product: Insulated pipes;

Sample size: Samples with an inner diameter of 22mm, thickness of 25mm, and length of 1500mm;

Classification levels: A1L/A2L/BL/CL/DL/EL/FL

Note: Insulated pipes generally apply for BL level; A1L/A2L levels are generally unattainable.
